Jobs and cron jobs
Run tasks to completion on Drasken Cloud — once, or on a schedule as a cron job — from an image or copied from an app.
A job runs a container image until it finishes — a data import, a report, a clean-up — once or on a schedule (a cron job). Create one under Public Cloud → Jobs with Create job; each run has its own logs and status, and you pay per minute of each run at the size's price.
Step 1: Choose the source
Select Create job, then either enter an image, as for an app, or choose Copy from an app to copy an app's image, size, command, user and environment groups. Variables set on the app itself aren't copied.
Step 2: Name it
Give the job a Name and a Short name (permanent; it names the job's runs).
Step 3: Set a schedule (optional)
Turn on Run on a schedule and pick how often it Repeats: every 5, 15 or 30 minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or a Custom five-field cron expression. Choose the time zone the schedule follows. Without a schedule the job runs when you select Run now.
Step 4: Size, time limit and retries
- Size: billed per minute of each run at the size's price.
- Timeout: 30 seconds to 24 hours; a run that takes longer is stopped.
- Retries: 0 to 5 attempts after a failed run.
- If a run is still going when the next one is due: Skip the new run, Run both (up to three at once) or Stop the old one.
Step 5: Create
Tick Run once after creating to start it straight away, then select Create job.
How do I follow a job's runs?
The job's Runs tab lists every run with its status and duration; Logs, Metrics and Health & Alerts work as for apps. Run now starts a run, Pause and Resume stop and restart the schedule, Edit settings changes it, and Delete removes it.
How many scheduled jobs can I have?
Your organisation's Scheduled jobs limit applies; see Limits and quotas.
