Logs and metrics
Read an app's logs and access logs, and watch its traffic, CPU, memory and health on Drasken Cloud.
Each app's Monitoring tabs show what it is doing: Logs has everything your app writes to standard output and standard error, Access logs has every request to its public address, Metrics charts traffic, CPU, memory, health and storage, and Health & Alerts shows its health and open alerts. Jobs have the same tabs.
How do I search an app's logs?
Open the app's Logs tab. Choose a range (15 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, 7 days or a custom range), then filter by text with contains, Doesn't contain or Regular expression. Turn on Live to follow new lines as they arrive; Pause live stops scrolling. The tab says how many days logs are kept.
What is in the access logs?
One line per request to the app's public address: time, method, path, status, duration, size and client. A summary shows the busiest paths and their errors. Query strings are never stored. The tab says how many days access logs are kept.
Which metrics can I see?
| Section | Shows |
|---|---|
| Traffic | Requests that reached the app through its address |
| Resources | CPU, memory and network used by the app's instances |
| Health | Whether the app ran the instances it should |
| Storage | Temporary space the fullest instance uses — at 100% the instance restarts |
Ranges are 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours and 7 days; charts can refresh every 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes. A new app shows No metrics yet until it has run for a few minutes.
Will I be told when something goes wrong?
Email alerts are coming soon; until then, the Health & Alerts tab shows the app's health. See Alerts.
