Ports and addresses

How Drasken Cloud apps are reached — the public HTTPS address of the public port, and the private address other apps in the project use.

An app's public HTTP port gets an HTTPS address on the internet, with a certificate managed for you; every port of the app is also reachable privately from the other apps and jobs in the same project at http://<short-name>. Ports are set under Networking when you create the app, and on its Networking tab later.

What is my app's public address?

It is shown on the app's Networking tab once the app is created, in the form https://<short-name>-<suffix>.…. The address stays the same for the life of the app. Check now checks that it answers, and the tab shows its HTTPS certificate. See Domains.

How do other apps in my project reach it?

At http://<short-name>, for example http://api. The primary HTTP port answers on port 80 at that address; other ports answer on their own port numbers. This traffic stays inside the project and never goes over the internet.

Which ports can be public?

One port per app, and it must be an HTTP port. gRPC and TCP ports are reachable only from inside the project.

What is coming soon?

Serving the app on your own domain, path routes, allowed IP addresses, request limits and fixed outbound IP addresses are planned and marked Coming soon on the tab.
