Domains and addresses

Every Drasken Cloud app gets a permanent HTTPS address with a managed certificate, and a private address inside its project. Custom domains are coming soon.

Every app with a public port gets a permanent HTTPS address on drasken.cloud, with its certificate issued and renewed for you, and every app is reachable privately inside its project at http://<short-name>. Serving an app on your own domain, such as shop.example.com, is coming soon.

What is my app's address?

It is on the app's Networking tab once the app is created, in the form:

https://<short-name>-<suffix>.<region>.drasken.cloud

<short-name> is the app's short name, <suffix> a few characters that make the address unique, and <region> the region the app runs in. The address never changes for the life of the app, even when you deploy, scale or stop it.

Is HTTPS included?

Yes. Requests reach your app over HTTPS, with a certificate the platform issues and renews. Your app itself serves plain HTTP on its public port; there is nothing to configure.

How do apps in the same project reach each other?

At http://<short-name> — for example, an app with the short name api is at http://api. The primary HTTP port answers on port 80 there; other ports on their own numbers. This traffic stays inside the project. See Ports and addresses.

Can I use my own domain?

Custom domains are coming soon. When they arrive you will add a domain under Public Cloud → Domains with Add domain, create two DNS records at your DNS provider — one that points your domain at your app, and one that lets us issue a free HTTPS certificate and proves you own the domain — and the console will verify them and issue the certificate. This page will describe each step when the feature is available.

Which domains can't I use?

Addresses under drasken.cloud and draskencloud.com are reserved for the platform.
