Projects

Create, rename, archive, restore and delete projects on Drasken Cloud, and what a project's short name is for.

A project holds the apps, jobs, databases, volumes and domains for one piece of work, kept apart from your other projects. Create one with New project from the project picker or the Projects page; rename, archive or delete it under Public Cloud → Project settings.

How do I create a project?

  1. Select New project.
  2. Project name: 2 to 80 characters. You can change it later.
  3. Short name: 2 to 40 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, starting and ending with a letter or a digit. It is permanent and appears in addresses. The console says whether it is available and suggests one if not.
  4. Select Create project.

If your organisation has reached its project limit, archive a project you no longer use or ask for a higher limit.

What does the Projects page show?

Each project's health — Healthy, Degraded, Down, Stopped, Starting, Updating, Unknown or Empty — what is inside it, and for owners and billing members what it has cost this month. Search, sort, and switch between Active and Archived.

What does archiving do?

It hides the project from the console and the project picker. Its apps, databases and volumes keep running and are still billed. Select Restore on the Archived tab to bring it back.

How do I delete a project?

Only when nothing is left in it — no apps, jobs, databases, volumes, domains, environment groups, registry connections, backups or snapshots. Under Project settings, choose delete and type the project's name to confirm. Its short name stays taken.

Where do I see a project's costs?

Public Cloud → Usage & Costs shows the project's use against its limits and what it costs.
